MCNP is a general-purpose Monte Carlo N-Particle code that can be used for neutron, photon, electron, or coupled neutron/photon/electron transport. Specific areas of application include, but are not limited to, radiation protection and dosimetry, radiation shielding, radiography, medical physics, nuclear criticality safety, Detector Design and analysis, nuclear oil well logging, Accelerator target design, Fission and fusion reactor design, decontamination and decommissioning.

All MCNP users on HiPerGator must open a support request for access to the software install and provide a proof of license by sending an electronic copy of the email message from RSICC’s Request History tool that contains a list all of the software for which the individual has been licensed to us@rc.ufl.edu or by attaching a PDF to the support request. The Request History link is available on RSICC’s Customer Service webpage, https://rsicc.ornl.gov/CustomerService.aspx.
