Description

Delft3D website

Delft3D is a world leading open-source 2D/3D modeling suite to investigate hydrodynamics, sediment transport, morphology and water quality for fluvial, estuarine, and coastal environments. Delft3D 4 suite is based on structured grids. Wind, waves, and currents shape our coasts. Climate change and rising sea levels add further to this pressure. To enable us to live safely along our shores, we need effective coastal and marine management. Moreover, these coastal processes do not present the only threat. We must also protect ourselves against excess river water, while on the other hand we need that water for transport, irrigation, energy, cooling, recreation, environmental protection and as a source of drinking water. Consequently, design and management procedures become more complex and require an integrated approach. In response to this challenge, Deltares has developed powerful modeling suite software called Delft3D, focusing primarily on applications in the free surface water environment.

Release Notes Delft3D 4.06.01 (Delft3D-FLOW 6.04.03)

This release is based on Windows 10 and on AlmaLinux8, because CentOS 7 will be phased out by June 2024.
In this release the Fortran compiler has been upgraded to Intel Fortran IFORT2023.
Noted that this Delft3D 4 release is based on the same tools as the Delft3D Flexible Mesh release (2024.02 and higher), like IntelMPI and CMAKE, which simplifies open source activities when using both the Delft3D 4 and Delft3D Flexible Mesh software suites.
