Description

ete4 website

ETE 4 is an enhanced Python programming toolkit designed for the automated manipulation, analysis, and visualization of phylogenetic trees. This new version offers improved performance and additional features over its predecessor, including more advanced tree handling options, enhanced node annotation capabilities, programmatic access to the phylomeDB database with thousands of pre-calculated phylogenetic trees, and automatic detection of orthology and paralogy. ETE 4 also features an interactive tree visualization system and a customizable tree drawing engine that can produce high-quality PDF and SVG images. While primarily intended for phylogenetic analysis, ETE 4 is also versatile enough to handle clustering trees or any hierarchical data representation.
