Computation of genome-wide orthology data.

The program Proteinortho is a stand-alone tool that is geared towards large datasets and makes use of distributed computing techniques when run on multi-core hardware. It implements an extended version of the reciprocal best alignment heuristic.

Execution Environment and Modules

To use proteinortho with the environment modules system at HPC the following commands are available:

Get module information for proteinortho:

$module spider proteinortho

Load the default application module:

$module load proteinortho

The modulefile for this software adds the directory with executable files to the shell execution PATH and sets the following environment variables:

  • HPC_PROTEINORTHO_DIR - directory where proteinortho is located.
