Description

gfam website

GFam is a command-line tool for automatic annotation of gene families. GFam offers a framework for complete genome initiatives and model organism resources to build domain-based gene families, derive meaningful functional labels and maintain family annotation across genome releases seamlessly. Our approach achieves a unified system for grouping proteins based on evolutionary and functional relationships.

Environment Modules

Run module spider gfam to find out what environment modules are available for this application.

System Variables

  • HPC_GFAM_DIR - installation directory
  • HPC_GFAM_BIN - executable directory

Additional Information

  • Make sure to run gfam init in your working directory to create the default gfam.cfg file. Otherwise, the program will try to use the default on the application server which is read-only and will not work.
